books and sick babies

this weekend and the past few days, we’ve been forced to slow down.  r has a bug.  it hasn’t been pretty.  but, since i am a product of my mother, i tend to try and look on the bright side most of the time.  being just home isn’t that bad - actually, it’s wonderful.  legos, movies, and books.  lots and lots of books.  this weekend we finished a book from the Spiderwick series, started and finished The Adventures of Huck Finn - a new favorite for j.  we also read some of the boys’ regular favorites - The Polar Express, books about firetrucks and vehicles, a library pick called The Ultimate Lego Book. this week, i’m thankful for this time, for the slowness, for my boys who love to be read to, and i can’t forget my washer and dryer, which has been put to good use for sure.

just a few summertime cuties…
while some of our summer will be filled with new and fun work projects, camp for the boys and our usual daily routines, we have some adventures in the mix. here’s what I am looking forward to in the coming weeks:
camping (camping! first time with j & r!!)
our annual storyland visit!
farm share! we’re on week 2 and already enjoying favorites like beets, garlic scapes and strawberries.
planning a birthday party for my little man who turns 5 (crazy) in just a few weeks! he has some pretty great ideas in mind for what he wants his party to be!
happy summer!!
